Sherman & Lee and Durham County Poets Double Bill on April 3

sherman and leeOn Friday, April 3rd, David Sherman and Nancy Lee (Sherman & Lee) will be doing a double bill with the Durham County Poets. The show will begin at 8 PM, and will take place at the Casa del Popolo at 4871 boul. St Laurent.

David Sherman’s first novel will be published with Guernica Editions in 2017.

David Sherman & Nancy Lee are a duo of singer/songwriters that met performing in a bistro outside of Montreal and soon began seeing each other, playing together and performing together. Their’s is a love affair on and off stage and their rapport in front of audiences prompted the artistic director of Montreal’s Infinitheatre, Guy Sprung, to ask them to write a musical about how they met.

They have mounted two productions of the play with members of the legendary Stephen Barry Blues Band and had a two-week run of the play, Lost & Found, in February 2015. They have been touring in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Quebec since May 2014 promoting their soundtrack CD of the original songs from the play which is now available for sale.

Their songs, an original mix of blues, roots, pop and folk, tell stories of love and loss, of rusted cities and troubled souls. Their music and stage rap create an intimate bond with the audience. In concert or performing their play Lost & Found, Sherman & Lee are an original, artful duo performing haunting original songs and stories. And their romance is thriving for all to see the moment they take the stage.

Sherman and Lee will be playing the event along with Stephen Barry, Andrew Cowan and John McColgan. The band will feature some songs from the play, Lost & Found.

The Durham County Poets are made up of Lead singer-Kevin Harvey, electric & acoustic guitars-David Whyte, acoustic guitar-Neil Elsmore, double bass-Carl Rufh & percussion- James Preimel. Their vision is to “write, record and perform good honest music.”
