Quebec Writers’ Federation Announces 2013 QWF Awards Shortlist


Congratulations to Guernica Publisher, CONNIE GUZZO-MCPARLAND, and Guernica author, LORNE ELLIOTT for their QWF nominations! Connie Guzzo-McParland has been nominated for the Concordia University First Book Prize for The Girls of Piazza d’Amore (Linda Leith Publishing), and Lorne Elliott for the Paragraphe Hugh McLennan Prize for Fiction for Beach Reading (Acorn Press).

Finalists celebrated at special 15th-anniversary celebration

With a combined value of $12,000, these six awards will be announced at a special gala ceremony that will also celebrate the QWF’s 15th Anniversary on Tuesday, November 19.

Tickets for the QWF Literary Awards Gala
In honour of its 15th Anniversary, the QWF is inviting the public to a literary star-studded cocktail dînatoire preceding the Gala from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. Tickets are $40 until October 15 and $50 thereafter. Price includes admission to the Gala, which begins at 8:00 pm. Tickets for the Gala alone are $25 and include 1 glass of wine. Doors open to the public at 7:30 pm.
