Jill Battson to Read at WordSpell on September 4th

jillbattsonCome hear Jill Battson read new poems – and some old gems – at the fabulous reading series WordSpell on Wednesday, September 4th, 7.30pm, at the Free Times Café, 320 College Street, Toronto. 

Jill Battson is an internationally published poet and poetry activist and the Poet Laureate Emeritus of Cobourg, Ontario. She was responsible for creating and running the successful poetry reading series The Poets’ Refuge and has initiated and produced many exciting poetry events. Jill is widely published across North America and the UK.

The WordSpell Collective is a new group that came together in spring 2012 with the goal of creating a poetry series in Toronto that focuses on women’s voices. WordSpell’s mandate is to have an open, inclusive space for female and female identifying individuals to feel comfortable on stage and off.
