Guernica authors and guests Paul Bélanger, Michael Mirolla, and Veena Gokhale, along with Milton Dawes, Ami Sands Brodoff, Carolyn Zonailo, Stephen Morrissey, and Jonathan Kaplansky will be reading at An Evening of Poetry & Prose & Music at the Visual Arts Centre School of Art / McClure Gallery, 350 Victoria Avenue, Westmount, Quebec on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 7pm.
Paul Bélanger is the Publisher of Le Noroît in Montréal and author of The World Forgotten: Selected Poems, translated by Antonio D’Alfonso (Guernica). Michael Mirolla is a Montreal‐Toronto novelist, short story writer, poet & playwright, and co‐owner of Guernica Editions. Veena Gokhale is the author of a debut collection of short stories, Bombay Wali and other stories (Guernica Editions 2013).
Ami Sands Brodoff‘s latest novel is The White Space Between, and she is the Winner of the Canadian Jewish Book Award for Fiction. Milton Dawes will be performing with the Djembe (African Drum), he is one of the seven drummers who started the “tam-tam” on the mountain. Carolyn Zonailo is a West Coast and Montreal poet and will be reading from her twelfth book, Fight Fire With Spirit: Selected Poems (Ekstasis Editions, 2012). Stephen Morrissey’s latest book is Girouard Avenue, while Jonathan Kaplansky will read from his translation of Hélène Rioux’s Le cimetière des élèphants: Elephant’s Graveyard (Ekstasis Editions, 2012).
