Melanie Janisse Published in WHISKEY SOUR CITY by Vanessa Shields and Black Moss Press

We are so happy to share that Guernica author Melanie Janisse has been published in Whiskey Sour City, edited by Vanessa Shields and published by Black Moss Press. Sex, love, alcohol, and pollution are on tap within these pages. Whisky Sour City is a collection of poetry written by people who have experienced both the sour and the sweet of Windsor, Ontario. The rich sense of history, community and family in this book is enticing, and the humour and sense of southwestern Ontario are welcoming. This book is a celebration, a memory, and an invitation to readers to call a toast to the unique city that is Windsor, Ontario.

Melanie Janisse is a native of Windsor herself. She holds degrees Communications from Concordia University and Visual Arts from Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design. Now a resident of Toronto, Melanie keeps active as a visual artist, poet, designer and shop owner. Orioles in the Oranges (Guernica 2009) was her first collection of poetry.
