Desgent, Brossard, and Bouraoui Read in Toronto

Looking for a literary event to break up the cold winter nights? Three major Francophone voices will be participating in a bilingual poetry reading at the Toronto Reference Library Tuesday, December 11th, at 7:00 pm.

Nicole Brossard is the 1974 winner of the Governor’s General Award for Poetry for Méchanique jongleuse (Day-Dream Mechanics in the English translation).

Jean-Marc Desgent has also won the Governor’s General Award for Vingtièmes Siecles in 2005.

Hedi Bouraoui’s novel, Ainsi parle la Tour CN, was shortlisted for the Ontario Trillium Award in 2000.

Reading in English will be Jay Millar for Nicole Brossard, Amela Marin for Jean-Marc Desgent, and Luciano Iacobelli for Hedi Bouraoui.
