Staged Reading of Chava Rosenfarb’s play “The Bird of the Ghetto” in Toronto

On November 4th, 2012, there will be a staged reading in English by Toronto’s Threshold Theatre of Chava Rosenfarb’s play “The Bird of the Ghetto.” Chava Rosenfarb was a Holocaust survivor, and was a promiment Jewish-Canadian poet and novelist. “The Bird  of the Ghetto” tells the story of the Vilna Ghetto resistance leader Isaac Wittenberg. It was originally written and published in Yiddish and performed by the Israeli National Theatre in a Hebrew translation in the late 1960s. The translation into English is by Goldie Morgentaler.

The staging will take place in the United Steelworkers Hall, 25 Cecil Street in Toronto.
