As part of the Toronto Book Award hype, The National Post is now featuring excerpts from the shortlisted works. The latest, and second installment, is a poignant taste of Suzanne Robertson’s poetry collection, Paramita, Little Black. The selected excerpt is from the poem “Signs:”

“All morning you smell the sweet oil
of bedsheets, moonwalk
away from every conversation, hear
french horn solos on little midnight
stages, unbutton”….

Check the rest out here, and don’t forget to tune in for the announcing of the winner on October, 11th!
