Carole David nominated for a Governor General’s Literary Award!

It’s been an exciting week here at Guernica!  While busy preparing for our fall launch this Sunday we received news of GG nominations for two of our poets.  Sandy Pool has been nominated for her English poetry collection Exploding into Night, and Carole David was nominated for her French poetry collection Manuel de poétique à l’intention des jeunes filles.  To explore Carole’s poetry that Guernica has translated into English, see below.

The Place Where Your Soul Dwells, translated by Nora Alleyn

The Governor General’s Literary Awards are given in the categories of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, drama, children’s literature (text and illustration) and translation.  Nominees are chosen together by the Canada Council for the Arts and the Governor General of Canada.  To view the rest of the nominees visit the GG website.
