Guernica author Maria Mazziotti Gillan takes her road show to Italy this summer with readings in Roma and Firenze. The author of What We Pass On: Collected Poems: 1980-2009 will be at the University of Rome, with Dr. Elisabetta Marino, who translated her book Talismans into Italian. Maria is reading from her work on June 15 at 11 am. On June 18th, at 5:30 pm, Maria will be reading at the Giubbe Rosse in Florence, with Sabine Pascarelli, translator of Maria’s poems in The Poet’s Cookbook anthology.

In the Fall, Maria is back in the U.S. to read with fellow poet Diane di Prima at Bird & Beckett Bookstore, San Francisco, September 13, 7 pm. Maria will also take part in the Petaluma Poetry Walk, The Apple Box, Petaluma, California, on Sept. 19, starting at 3 pm.
