Inaugural Toronto Voices Set To Speak Out

Toronto VoicesToronto poet, journalist and communications specialist Frank Giorno, with the help of Guernica publisher and author Michael Mirolla, invite you to  the inaugural readings of Toronto Voices on April 18, 2010.

Toronto Voices, in what is hoped will become a quarterly Toronto tradition, will feature both established and new and upcoming poets, novelists, dramatists and other manifestations of the art of writing. The mission of Toronto Voices is to break down barriers and bring writers from various diverse Toronto communities together to share their writings and experiences.

The readers in the very first event will be:

  • Gianna Patriarca: published poet of 6 books of poetry of Italian-Canadian background
  • Dane Swan: young up and coming West Indian Canadian poet
  • Diana Tso: Chinese Canadian playwright and storyteller
  • Daniel David Moses: Aboriginal Canadian poet from the Six Nations, near Brantford, Ontario
  • Halli Villegas: a Chicana Canadian poet and owner of Tight Rope Books publishing house
