Guernica Editions author Jim Johnstone has won second prize in the 2009 CBC Literary Awards.

In announcing its winners, the jury praised Invertebrate Poems as “a journey of variety: of voice, subject, place, structure, and language. You will be surprised, at every corner, where you end up!”

Johnstone’s winning entry will be published in Air Canada’s enRoute Magazine between March and August and read on CBC Radio’s Between the Covers during the week of March 2nd. It will also be available as a podcast on iTunes, cbc.ca/podcasts or cbc.ca/wordsatlarge as of March 4th.
