Lorri Neilsen Glenn, editor of Untying the Apron: Daughters Remember Mothers of the 1950s, was interviewed on CBC’s program Mainstreet with Stephanie Domet on Monday, May 6th in a segment entitled Moms of the 50s.
Lorri discusses with Stephanie how the collection of searing and startling poetry and prose that unties the stereotype and reveals the women of the 1950s came together and is striking a chord with so many women of her generation.
What did the women of this time period face? Who were they and what do we remember of them? “When they did have time to think, they might have wondered what they could have done. And many of the stories in the book do tell this story.”
