Guernica publisher Michael Mirolla, along with Guernica writers John Calabro and Licia Canton, are pleased to be taking part in the 11th International Conference on the Short Story in English, taking place June 16-19 at York University. Featuring readings, thematic analysis, and critical writings on specific Canadian writers, the Conference brings together some of the world’s top short story writers. Among those participating in this year’s event are: Margaret Atwood, Alistair MacLeod, Li Ang, Sandra Cisneros, John Metcalf, Mark Antony Jarman, Cyril Dabydeen, Olive Senior and Clark Blaise.
Licia Canton will be reading Wednesday afternoon (Reading I); Michael Mirolla is reading Friday afternoon (Reading V); and John Calabro takes the stage Saturday morning (Reading VI). John also takes part in a panel on Friday afternoon: The Book Business: Agents, Editors, Publishers, and Booksellers.
